The High Storrs Experience - from a Y7's perspective

Lizzie, Daisy and Kiera, Y7

Moving into Y7 can feel daunting at times especially after spending six years in a familiar and comfortable environment.

Yes, you probably will get lost-we did! But you can just stick your head round a classroom door and ask. The staff are very friendly and will always help you out. Before coming here us three hardly knew each other, proving that making friends is easier than you think – and so is staying with the old ones!

High Storrs made the transition really easy, from transition day to summer school. The summer school was a really great experience and definitely worth doing if possible. It’s also a great way of learning your way around the school.

At first vertical forms seemed a bit strange but we soon got used to it. The older kids can seem a bit intimidating at first but you soon get to know them and it is nice to have familiar faces in other years.

There are so many things to get involved with after school and the Fresher’s fair is a great way for you to sign up to them. We’ve joined drama, dance, badminton and football and are really enjoying them so far.

All in all, Y7 is great and we feel lucky to be experiencing it at High Storrs School.
