At High Storrs School, education is more than just grades—it’s about fostering a mindset that prepares students for life beyond the classroom. Our Attitude to Learning (A2L) framework is designed to instil habits and build great learning behaviours for school and for life. It is also a key part of our character education.
Building Skills for the Future
The school’s approach aligns closely with the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, which highlights the most valuable skills for the evolving job market. Among the top-rated skills are resilience and adaptability, motivation and self-awareness and curiosity—all of which are embedded in High Storrs’ A2L.
Our Attitude to Learning frameworks build learning behaviours from Y7 to Y11 or Y13. As our they grow and mature our students are encouraged to take ownership of their education, develop independent thinking, and cultivate the perseverance needed to excel in both academics and personal growth.
A Partnership with Parents
At High Storrs we recognize that learning doesn’t stop at the school gates. Parents play a crucial role in reinforcing these values at home. By engaging with A2L trackers and guides, families can support their children in building strong learning behaviours that will serve them well in higher education and future careers. This year we introduced new Y7-Y9 ‘talking tracker’ evenings where we met interested parents and carers and explained the tracker in more detail. We really enjoyed the conversations and had more requests for appointments than we had slots.
