We are seeking to appoint a permanent Premises Operative (Caretaker) as soon as possible to join a team of three full time premises staff.
Reporting to the Premises Team Leader, the successful candidate will, with two other full time Premises Operatives, be responsible for the security of premises, maintenance of fixtures and fittings and the operation of plant including heating. General maintenance, porterage duties and some emergency cleaning will also be required, as will supporting the school’s lettings. The post holder must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide basic repairs and maintenance (e.g. basic joinery, plumbing and grounds maintenance) using a variety of equipment. An understanding of basic Health and Safety, COSHH and Manual Handling would be advantageous, but training will be provided.
Our ideal candidate would have experience of working in a school or similar role, be an excellent team player, flexible and proactive and able to work with a variety of people. A full, clean driving license would be advantageous. The school is open between 6am and 10pm most week days and there are very regular weekend lettings. As a result, the successful candidate will be required to work an alternate weekly rota e.g. mornings, days and afternoons, as well as work weekends on a rota, for which additional payments may be made.

Reporting to the Cleaning Supervisor/Premises Team Leader, the successful candidates will assist in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the areas allocated. Duties will include cleaning, washing, sweeping, scrubbing, sanitising, shampooing, vacuum cleaning, polishing and dusting of designated areas as required.
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous cleaning experience, good attention to detail, a conscientious attitude and pride in their work.
