Plant a Tree at High Storrs
High Storrs School is planting over 120 trees on the grounds.
As part of the Woodland Trust Trees for Schools programme, we have been given 4 tennis courts of native trees to plant in our beautiful grounds. These include hawthorn, rowan, blackthorn, silver birch, hazel and common oak. They will be planted at the end of the school playing field.
The recently disbanded High Storrs PTA has also donated 17 ornamental cherry trees to plant along the front of the building.
In order to achieve this mammoth task, we need lots of people to help us with the planting.
A recent study has revealed that in order to offset our individual carbon footprints, each person on the planet should plant 5 trees annually. So why not get started now, and what better place than High Storrs?!
On Saturday 23rd November we will run 2 sessions for volunteers to come along to plant a tree. 10am-12pm and 1pm-3.30pm. Bring the whole family! Please book a place for each adult digger and ensure you are booking for the right session.
Bring your own spade, gloves and refreshments. Wellies recommended!

Please note, the event will go ahead regardless of the weather.
