Last Thursday over 900 High Storrs Students donned their walking boots and headed off on our annual High Storrs Hike, a 14km walk along the beautiful Limb and Porter Valleys.

We were so lucky with the weather after the high temperatures of the previous week; light drizzle kept students cool… helped along with an ice cream at Forge Dam Café, of course!
Our students were absolutely wonderful. They were praised by members of the public for their fantastic behaviour, they took the hills in their stride and the vast majority returned with huge grins on their faces. One group was even rewarded with a herd of deer rambling past!
A huge thank you to all the staff who took part; there are so many cogs in the wheel to ensure that a trip like this runs smoothly; from admin and caretaker support, walking group leaders, marshals to guide the way, checkpoint staff to help register and staff to support in school. It really is a team effort.
As well as spending time with each other enjoying our beautiful surroundings, the Hike also gives us the opportunity to raise some funds to support our school. This year we raised £4034.50 in contributions, our highest amount ever. Thanks so much to everyone to contributed.
