Ramadan and Exams

The blessed month of Ramadan will begin on Wednesday 16th May, subject to moon sighting. It will last for 29/30 days, with fasts, on average, starting at 2.30 am and breaking at around 9.20 pm. This is a very long time without food and water and that, coupled with all the extra duties you will perform during this month, will be tough. Read more

#SaveClassics Fundraising Campaign Update

The current total raised is £24,431.95 and the Classics Department would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to the fund so far. Particular thanks go to our major donors – Andrew Cook, John Hancock, Alex Jennings and Richard Humphry – who are all alumni of the Boys’ Grammar School and have been extremely generous. We would also like to thank broadcaster and journalist, Paul Heiney, another alumnus of the Boys’ Grammar, for his time, effort and expertise in producing a short film for us to promote the campaign on social media, which we hope will get it out to a wider audience. School days, snow days...

As I write this blog the snow is falling … again. I had hoped Spring might be here. It seems I am wrong. Fortunately, today is a Saturday and I do not have to worry about a ‘snow day’!
