Ethos and Vision Statement

Ethos:

High Storrs School is a high achieving, fully comprehensive school for students aged 11-18. It offers learning in a friendly, caring and hard-working environment.

We welcome everyone with open arms and pride ourselves on our inclusive practice. Combined with this, with we deliver academic success, specialisms in Maths & Computing and Performing Arts and a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

Our stunning listed school building has always been a key factor in creating an environment which is conducive to building a tradition of learning. This has been complemented by the opening of our state-of-the-art new build through the Building Schools for the Future programme, which enables students to make the most of the facilities including our Design & Technology department and the Learning Resource Centre, as well as a modern dance studio and sports hall.

These aims translate into our ethos and values.
We count a world championship squash player, successful television actor, footballers, MPs and several OBEs and CBEs among our former students, demonstrating what can be achieved with encouragement of all round ability and special talents.
