High Storrs School is a high performing newly rebuilt/refurbished secondary school on the South West edge of Sheffield, close to the Peak District National Park. We are proud of our links with the local authority. If you are interested in developing your professional expertise in brand new facilities (all classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards) and you understand how to relate to young people, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

We are seeking staff who believe in young people’s capacity to achieve, develop their own character, personality and sense of considerate citizenship. If you believe that learning is important for everyone in a school and share our passion for it, then you are exactly who we are looking for in an appointment to expand our staff team.

Teacher Training

Our school is proud to be a member of The Sheffield SCITT partnership – www.sheffieldscitt.org.uk. The Sheffield SCITT is one of only three accredited providers of Initial Teacher Training in Sheffield and the only one of its kind. SCITT stands for School Centred Initial Teacher Training and that is what we provide. Our trainees spend 100% of their time in school and are trained by serving outstanding teachers. The SCITT is owned an operated by Notre Dame High School which leads the Hallam Teaching School Alliance. This means SCITT trainees who go on to work in our schools also access an early career framework of support including talent spotting and fast track development towards school leadership. We welcome people for work experience placements prior to applying to the SCITT on https://www.ucas.com/ucas/teacher-training. The SCITT trains General Primary and Secondary Maths, English, Sciences, History, Geography and RE at a diverse range of good and outstanding schools in the Sheffield area. www.sheffieldSCITT.org.uk
