Message from the Sheffield Parental Engagement Team:
I would very much appreciate it if you could circulate this to any parents or carers who may be interested in the Parents’ Assembly network. Feel free to put this on your bulletin/notice boards for parents, carers or professionals.
Our Parents’ Assembly network which was set up in October 2009 is where parents can attend events and share information with us, and each other and receive information on what support services Sheffield City Council provides for parents and carers. We now have 230 members and continually attempting to reach more parents/carers across the city.
The next Parents’ Assembly event is to be held on Wednesday 24th March 2010 which will be looking at “The True Extent of Youth Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour in the Steel City”
We have organised this event to look at the preventative services in Sheffield and the different ways we are engaging with children and young people to support them making positive choices in their lives.
I have attached an invitation and a booking form for the event. For booking a place the booking form can be completed and returned to the freepost address by Wednesday 17th March 2010, or you can contact the Parental Engagement Team on telephone number 0114 2053902 or email laurie.haynes@sheffield.gov.uk .
For the duration of the event free childcare will be available on site, this will be based in the Megacentre and children will be supervised by qualified staff. Any childcare requirements need to be communicated to the Parental Engagement Team by email, telephone or completion of the relevant section on the booking which I have attached below.
