THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR WALKING
School Sponsored Walk 4 July
This year sees the return of the school’s sponsored walk after a gap of several years.
The walk will be held on Sunday 4th July, from 10 a.m. and should take most pupils around three hours to complete, taking in Whirlow, Ringinglow and the Porter Valley.
We’ve chosen Sunday to minimise the disruption to teaching and learning and, as a result, attendance at the event is voluntary. But we need as many pupils as possible to get involved with the fundraising and would be grateful of any support that parents can give in this regard. If you want to join in with the fun and walk with your children, or if you would be willing to help organise and marshal the event, contact Mr Lockwood at High Storrs.
The money raised will go towards the School Fund, which is used to support the education of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds, and towards the school rewards system. These funds are vital in maintaining and furthering the support and motivation of our pupils but we are not permitted to use local authority funding for such purposes.
So, dig out your walking boots and pray for good weather. Hope to see you there.
Shane and Angela Nickson will be serving up bacon butties and veggie burgers from the PTA BBQ to welcome the walkers back. Any volunteers to help – please contact them via Mr Lockwood or the PTA email address highstorrspta@googlemail.com
PLANT AND CAR BOOT SALE RAISE £800
CAR BOOT & PLANT SALE Sunday 9th May
Thank you to every one who made this annual event a great success. The weather held out for us again!! Loads of people turned out and people were streaming out from the school laden with bargains and plants galore.
