Our Specialisms

High Storrs was designated as a specialist school in Performing Arts in 2002 in recognition of the tremendous hard work by all partners in the learning process over a number of years. In 2006 we were delighted by the accolade of receiving ‘High Performing Status’ which gave us the opportunity to apply for a second curriculum specialism. After consultation with parents and students, we achieved our second specialism in Maths and Computing.

Our dual specialist status rightly celebrates our tremendous achievements, both within and outside the school. We have an extensive community programme and several of our staff are timetabled to work in the community in our partner schools; Hunters Bar, Greystones, Ecclesall, Bents Green and Silverdale. We also benefit from extensive links with outside organisations and businesses; both national and international links.

We have an impressive programme of enrichment activities for our students which we are developing to meet our extended schools plans.

High Storrs is committed to becoming a true centre of excellence for all students of all abilities across the entire curriculum and our dual specialist status has real impact for all our learners.
